Basically, introduce yourself here. Tell us what you'd like to know about you, what brought you here, why you play the jobs you play, any screenshots you'd like to post etc. (Please keep it as anonyomous as possible. If you want to tell us your age or gender thats okay but don't tell us everything about your real life.)

You can introduce yourself in anyway you wish. I've done mine in a questionaire type form-I find these are alot of fun and make it easy to talk about yourself comfortably. Ask and answer any question you like.

I'm Steelcyclone.

Origin of player name: WAR WS-Galka's look awesome using this WS. Also, my previous character had a mule named Ragingrush-I thought I would get my act back but I haven't had any luck.

Why did you pick the race you currently play: I like melee jobs. I really like how the Galka look and sound.

Any special reason you leveled the jobs you have: BST was first-I wanted a job that would make it easier to get to the max level as well as help me with other quests/missions. BST is the answer-great solocapabilities in situations where other jobs would falter (Most of my missions I solo'd on BST effortlessly). WAR-If I could be any job irl, it would be WAR. WAR is why I live and breathe. COR-I wanted a support role to add to my list of jobs. Between BRD, COR, RDM, and DNC, I felt COR was the most unique and valued choice. I still intend to lv BRD and RDM later though, as well as BLU and THF.

Favorite mission/mission set: Chains of Promathia by far. Also, I really like the ending of the Windy Wings of the Goddess quests. Abyssea's final chapter is heart breaking and rewarding. The add-ons have been terrific.

The entire final chapter of Chains of Promithia. Its the way a game should end-brand new zone with new, stupidly hard monsters. Boss fights and challenges.

Favorite NPC (FFXI): Prishe, Lion, Iron Eater, Zied, Aldo. People who have solid memory may remember the Galka Jabbos from Chains of Promathia-he worked with the moblins. He is my favorite overall.

Favorite zone (FFXI): I like sea in general. Promyvion is nice. Throne Room's giant bridge is probably my all time favorite place.

Favorite boss (FFXI): The final Treasures of Aht Urghan boss. Maat as well.

Worst mission set/mission: I didn't like Rise of the Zilart. The story is kind of meh and does not have impact. The ending was just horrible.

Hardest mission for sure is Chain of Promithia's 8-3-pots x4. By far the most difficult fight to date ever.

Favorite games (not ffxi): Super Mario RPG and Kirby Super Star Ultra. Mario Karti Wii, Wet, Legend of Mana.

Favortite character (non ffxi): Kirby.

Favorite TV shows: White Collar, Burn Notice, Community, South Park, Robot Chicken. Dexter, Californication.

Favorite Movies: Megamind, Shrek, Sin City.

Favorite tv/movie characters: Marv(Sin City), Winry Rockbell (Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood) (I'm seriously in love with her @.@), James Bond.

Things to look forward to: Paper Mario coming out on 3DS. Finishing Armageddon for my COR. Summer time…I hate summer time but I like playing outside.

Things you want to do in the future: Sky diving. Learning to fly a plane. Cooking beyond basic level. Graphic art design. Writing.

What is your dream: I want to work less hours at work. Would like the freedom to work when I want and where I want. Money is not something I value but is something that is necessairy.

What do you do for fun: Basketball/Football. Biking and joging everyday-I run for fun. Reading. I love Monopoly and Texas Hold'em poker. I play pool w/ my dad when he isn't travelling.

What do you listen to: Video game music. Yea at work. Also, some rap and rock/alternative.

Favorite food/drinks: Boneless buffalo wings, vanilla yogurt, starwberries. Burgers and battered fish tacos. I have an out of control sweet tooth. Love coca-cola and orange sherbert push-pops. Sautated potates are good as well.

Other interests that you want to throw out: Wild arms and Persona 3/4 have been really cool games. Never heard of them but picked them up one day and was blown away. Red Steel 2 was awesome. I really like racing games like Burnout/Need for Speed. My friends and I used to play Crash Team Racing and Mario Kart all the time when we we kids.

I love watching other people play. I spent alot of time watching my friend play Metal Gear Solid games. I grew up watching my dad play Super Mario World from my bunk bed. When I play Kingdom Hearts II I use Valor form exclusively unless I am grinding a form's lv in order to increase the glide/dash/double jump abilities power. I've tried other forms but I prefer having a partner on the field in order to cover my ass and not get swamped.

Favorite quotes: "I won't go down in history but I will go down on your sister" -Hank Moody, Californication

"Are you wounded…? Tell us…where…you are hurt…Think carefully…wounds…of the spirit…can escape…your notice…And they are…much more…dangerous…than physical…cuts and bruises."-Jabbos

I'm Avina!

Origin of player name: Avina was a random generation. For other games where you select a name, there are several I tend to use but I wanted to pick something different this time. So I went the route of a random generation name… I spammed the random generation option and wrote down the ones I liked. I liked how this one sounded and it was also very short and easy to remember.

Why did you pick the race you currently play: I started without a ton of knowledge of the game and generally wanted to have the option to do a lot of different things if I wanted to. Hume for indecisiveness!

Any special reason you leveled the jobs you have: Since I'm a roleplayer, the storyline that I can spin from leveling certain jobs plays a big factor in my job choice. I went with Dark Knight kind of with that whole emoness fuel in mind… I also like DD jobs in general. THF sort of became my favorite job later on, with its extra survivability and utility, really enjoyed that. I wanted to improve my marksmanship for my THF, so I figured I might as well level Ranger to help with that. Lately I have been working on RDM and been having a blast with it.

Favorite mission/mission set: I've only completed Rise of the Zilart and all the nation missions and so I can only speak for those (I expect I will really really like WotG and CoP). I really liked the Windy and San d'Oria storylines, I expected to like Windurst from the beginning, but the San d'Oria storyline totally surprised me.

Favorite NPC (FFXI): Oh this is tough… Always been a huge fan of Karaha-Baruha and his role in Windurst present and past. There is totally some others but I can't really remember them.

Favorite zone (FFXI): Like Steelcyclone, really like the Throne Room and Castle Zvahl Keep. I especially like the music in the keep.

Favorite boss (FFXI): I loved the Divine Might fight.

Worst mission set/mission: Didn't care so much for Bastok.

Favorite games (not ffxi): Big Halo fan! There is a rather unknown game for PC that I was entranced with… called Homeworld. Bonus points if you know of it. :)

Will add more later on :)

I'm Draenen, most of the time. People who have known me awhile might also call me "Mal" or "Mae". I respond to all three.

Origin of player name: After leaving WoW, I did a -very- short stint in LoTRO. RP server, needed a good name, and something different from my usual arsenal of names to fit the setting. I ended up with "Draenenwen" (draenen wen is Welsh for "hawthorn"), and while I ended up hating the game, I really did like the name I had found. When I came back to FFXI, I forced a name-change when I switched servers and went with "Draenen", which by itself means "thorns".
– My character's original name came from my days playing Phantasy Star Online, where I had messed with a name I had used in an old WhiteWolf RPG to get a specific SectionID. Got little to no comments there, moved to FFXI and re-used the name, and found out that it was VERY close to the name of a dragon in DragonLance. Oops.

Why did you pick the race you currently play: Only liked the look of the Humes and the Tarutaru… and I knew that I'd be too distracted over the Tarutaru's cuteness.

Any special reason you leveled the jobs you have: For Redmage… it was the hat. Plus, the job let me do a little of everything. My enthusiasm died for it, though, once I started getting to the higher levels. Now, I only use it when doing things like missions and quests because I don't have anything else leveled that high.
– For Dancer, it's a -fun- job! I enjoy it a lot, maybe even more than I liked Redmage.
– For Thief, originally it was to use as a subjob. But I'm really starting to like it, and at the very least I'll take it high enough to get the first Artifact set.

Favorite mission/mission set:
Ooooohhh… I don't think I can pick a favorite. I like what I've seen of them all, and although I've technically spoiled myself by watching end cutscenes on YouTube, I still really want to experience them myself. Some people trudge through missions for the gear, I'm doing it to watch the pretty movies.

Favorite NPC (FFXI): Shantotto. I so want to make a plushie of her that laughs when you hug it.

Favorite zone (FFXI):
Might be easier to list the ones I don't like: the Dunes, the Jungles, the Temple of Ugly…

Favorite boss (FFXI): I haven't seen many 'big bosses', in the grand scheme of things. I liked the Shadow Lord and Kam'lanaut fights.

Worst mission set/mission: The 2-3 missions, and Promys, back-in-the-day. Although I did have a way to successfully and consistently duo the 2-3 dragon, the running around everywhere aspect really sucked. And Promys were just… ugh, if ONE thing went wrong, it just all fell apart.

Favorite games (not ffxi): Phantasy Star (Online episodes 1-3, Universe 2, Portable 2), Persona 3, and… well, I don't play many other video games. WoW had it's good points, I guess, but I really played it because of the people I knew and RP'd with. Team Fortress 2 is fun, but it doesn't keep my attention for very long.

Favortite character (non ffxi):
Ryoji and Junpei from Persona 3. Any others, would be other players in PSO and WoW that I RP'd with.

Favorite TV shows: Ghost in the Shell: SAC/2nd GiG, Trigun, a LOT of cooking shows…

Favorite Movies:
Ghost in the Shell/Innocence/Solid State, Labyrinth, Memoirs of a Geisha.

Favorite tv/movie characters:
Kusanagi, Batou, and the Tachikomas from the various Ghost in the Shell movies/series.

Things to look forward to:
Being able to send my husband for his training.

Things you want to do in the future:
Get a job that I actually like. Move somewhere else.

What is your dream: To have a nice life and, if not be happy, at least be content.

What do you do for fun: Writing, art, reading, listening to music. I used to do a lot of hiking and kayaking, but some health issues have cropped up over the years and I have to be careful with how long I'm in the sun for.

What do you listen to:
In general, I'm not a fan of rap or country. Everything else can be fair game, if it catches my interest. My current playlists have a lot of Russian, Italian, Welsh, and (Roman)Latin/Esperanto on it.

Favorite food/drinks:
I like certain teas and juices, but most of the time I'd just rather have plain water. Just about anything my mother cooks, is a favorite.

Other interests that you want to throw out:
Lessee, I played violin for fifteen years. I'm also working on a story; a sort of modern-day fantasy.

Favorite quotes: "It's a Zen thing: Life is a journey, time is a river, the door is ajar." - Waldo Butters, Dead Beat

Malaystryx: "Alright, let's try to get at least one more member. Preferably a Tank"
Mist: "A military vehicle?"
Raka: "Someone to stand in front of us and get burned, stabbed, clubbed, etc…"
Romidant: "A Tank you say? I'm sure you are the party I'm supposed to join here today! It was a tough trail, but I solved it!"
Malaystryx: "… Trail?"
Romidant: Yes, the one you left in San d'Oria. The Black Mage you were with dropped a clump of burnt hair when you arrived. On this clue I then traveled to the Smithing Guild, since scissors are used to cut hair, which are made of metal. They said they had no idea who you were, which I decoded into "The Orc Wears A Subligar", which was further decoded into "Galka Love Spicy Sausage". Galka came from Quicksand Caves originally, which now has Antican. Antican are a type of Beastman, so I knew my next stop would have to be inhabited by Beastmen. This almost lead me to a dead-end if it had not been for the next clue I stumbled upon. A burnt, green sock. I realized that Koopa Troopas can be green. They are also a kind of turtle, and Quadav are also a type of turtle, so on this I traveled here to Bastok."
Mist: "He just keeps talking, Malay-San! And it doesn't make any sense! Make him stop!"
Romidant: "After reaching Bastok, I decided to check the Goldsmithing Guild, since San d'Oria also has a Carpenters Guild. They said the same thing that I was told back in San d'Oria, and I knew I was on the right track. I went to Port Bastok since all cities have a 'Port' in the name of one of their districts. Here I found a Goblin. He told me that he was selling chips, but they weren't like -food- chips. They were hard and shiny. Then it hit me! Chips that were edible would be sold in a market, and there's a place called Bastok Markets! So I… came and… followed… zzZZZZzzzz…"
Raka: "… Is he dead?"
Malaystryx: "No… I… think he fell asleep…"
Mist: "Thank Gord that's over. Let's go."
Malaystryx: "Wait. I think we should take him."
Raka: "What? WHY?!"
Malaystryx: "Because it's either him, or Acro."
Mist: "… Okay, yeah. Good point."

When the hero enters to kill me, I will ask him to first explain to my grandchild why it is necessary to kill her beloved grandma. When the hero launches into an explanation of morality way over her head, that will be her cue to pull the lever and send him into the pit of crocodiles. After all, small children like crocodiles almost as much as Evil Overlords and it's important to spend quality time with the grandkids.

"How hard did you hit him?"
"Quite hard, actually. For some reason he irritated me." They stared back to where the Grolim lay.
"You're getting to be more like Belgarath every day," Silk told him. "You do more damage out of simple irritation than most men can do in a towering rage."

I'm Kjara!

Origin of player name: This is a hard question to answer to if trying to stay anonymous, so here it is. It's the closest option to my real name (Chiara, spelled key-ar-ha, I'm Italian.) I could find available. Chiara, Kiara, Kyara, were all taken sadly.

Why did you pick the race you currently play: Elvaan females look way better in the Create Character cutscene than they do in game, so I was fooled by that… But I did it for the hair style mostly, because I wanted one that would resemble my RL hairstyle the most. I wanted to be female, but hated hume and mithra in the Create Character video. Tarutaru was already out of question because I didn't want to be short.

That being said I have created other characters (hume males, hume females, mithras and one elvaan male) because I wanted to experience them at least once. I ended up liking them all and so I kept them for RP purpose.

Any special reasons you leveled the jobs you have: As a horse trainer I wanted a pet job, because I couldn't stand being alone. I didn't really like BST pets turning back to attack the master, avatars being so MP dependant and automatons overloading, so I picked DRG. Wyvern is forever loyal and I liked their ability to cure their master. Also, blue is my favorite color, and dragons are my favorite creatures after horses, so I immediately fell in love for the blue wyvern.

Though, I wanted to make sure there was nothing else between the other jobs that I could miss the fun of, so shortly after getting DRG to 75 I decided to bring all other jobs to 75 as well (not sure which I'll bring to 90). During this experience I learned that what I really like is to be able to inflict damage and fight while being able to heal and support my party members. This is how DRG, DNC, BLU and PLD became my top favorites job.

Favorite mission/mission set: All of Aht Urhgan. Aside being the very first storyline I completed, I loved the places and characters. Wings of the Goddess is a close second, but it can't charm me as much as the beautiful places of Aht Urhgan did. The final fight with Alexander is my very favorite mission, and has my top favorite music in game as well.

Favorite NPC (FFXI): Odin. He has the only horse in game and I really envy him. Wish SE would've given him a six-legged chocobo instead (ewwwww!). Aquila in Wings of the Goddess (hume spitewarden) is probably my second favorite. Third place goes to Lucius in Bastok Missions storyline.

Favorite zone (FFXI): Arrapago Reef. I love it especially when it snows in there. The atmosphere is so enchanting, scary yet relaxing. Favorite special place probably is the waterfall by Sacrarium in Lufaise Meadows.

Favorite boss (FFXI): Alexander fight. I'll repeat it any time any day for whoever needs it! I wish I could move my Mog House in there.

Worst missions set/mission: I like all missions, but if I have to pick one I like the least… It would probably be Bastok (present time bastok, the storyline of the past Bastok is awesome). The subject of the storyline didn't really strike me, and I wished it would've focused on the bonds between humes and galkas more, instead of just galkas.

The mission I hate the most because of difficulty is probably the CoP airship fight (at lv60 cap). I did it as PLD and it took us many tries to win.

Favorite games (not FFXI): Wild Arms series is my second favorite RPG series after Final Fantasy, and 3 is my top favorite. I also like Tomb Raider series, Kingdom Hearts II and Grand Theft Auto.

Favorite character (not FFXI): Jet Enduro (Wild Arms 3)

Favorite TV shows: Fullmetal Alchemist, Inuyasha, Card Captor Sakura, Scrubs, House M.D., Being Erica, Big Bang Theory, Kyle XY.

Favorite movie: Megamind, Rapunzel, but I like about all of Pixar/Dreamworks movies.

Favorite tv/movie characters: Roy Mustang (FMA), Sesshomaru (Inuyasha), Li Shaoran (CC Sakura), Doctor Cox (Scrubs), Sheldon Cooper (Big Bang Theory).

Things to look forward to: Find a job, Get a new computer for FFXIV, work on moving to the United States.

Things you want to do in the future: I would really like to become a professional horse trainer in the US, or a writer if it doesn't work out.

What is your dream: To leave Italy and start a new life in the US that will make me happy.

What do you do for fun: Horse riding, roller-skating and writing. I used to do so archery, but I had to stop because of lack of money. I spend the rest of my time doing job apps and playing FFXI.

What do you listen to: Videogame and anime music. I also like orchestral/rock music (the Era is my favorite group so far), like Nightwish and Kimera. I also like some Italian songs, but don't have a real favorite Italian arist. I also like a lot of Phil Collins (he's so cool, he can sing in 5 different languages, Italian included!)

Favorite food/drinks: I'm a pasta lover, anything that is pasta is appealing to me, but my favorite is spaghetti (so classic). Between sweets and salty snacks I'll go for snacks. Chips and fries are my best friends (so hard to not eat them everyday!). Pepsi and Sprite/Seven Up are my favorite drinks. The only meat I really like is chicken meat. I DO NOT eat horse meat.

Other interests that you want to throw out: I like roleplaying and writing fanfictions. I also really really like to read and learn about foreign folklore and mythology.

Favorite quotes:

"If you can't be a good example, all what's left is to be an horrible admonishment" - Catherine Aird

"Death is the most horrible thing that can happen in your existence. I think to die will be the last thing I'll ever do in my life." - Roberto Benigni

"Hello? I know you're out there. I can hear you metabolising oxygen and expelling carbon dioxide!" - Sheldon Cooper

"So, this is engineering, huh? Engineering, where the noble semi-skilled laborers execute the vision of those who think and dream. Hello Oompa Loompas of science!" - Sheldon Cooper

"I think that you have as much of a chance of having a sexual relationship with Penny as the Hubble Telescope does of discovering at the centre of every black hole is a little man with a flashlight searching for a circuit breaker." - Sheldon Cooper

Penny: "Oh, my God! I found a treasure chest. I'm rich!"
Sheldon Cooper: "Level 3 and she thinks she's rich. What a noob."

"If I may be permited to speak again, Doctor Sheldon Cooper for the win." - Sheldon Cooper

To be an interesting, intriguing, well-written character, there needs to be something to allow the audience to relate to them. That is what the problem is with who wants their character to be "perfect". Perfect characters will never be strong, and strong characters will never be perfect, because WE (those who read, who watch, who RP) are not perfect.

"What makes a strong character is how they deal with their flaws, their fears, their turmoils, their troubles that get in the way. That's what makes them relatable." – Doug Walker
