I am planning on forming a group for Atheling Mantle farming (ATK+20, DA+3%). Everyone is welcome to come. Date and time have not been decided. Here are the specifics regarding this:

It drops 100% from Orthrus (Cerberus in Altepa). To pop Orthrus, you need the key item Steaming Cerberus tongue, which drops from Amarok (also a Cerberus). Amarok is a force pop that requires these "Rare" items-H.Q. Dhalmel Hide, Sharabha Hide, & Tiger King's Hide (This one is the most expensive and is usually 100k)

From what I've read (and experienced with Alfard who is the hyrda version of these) this is not a super hard battle. Wiki testimonies explain that this can be done with 2-4 people no problem.

Now, this is my plan: Everyone who wants an Atheling Mantle will pick up a pop set for Amarok (assuming they don't already have a Steaming Cerb Tongue key item). We will kill Amarok and get red for everyone so they all have a key item. Then we will pop Orthrus. Everyone who brought a pop set for Amarok will get a ki for Orthrus, so we will get everyone a mantle.

Now, for this, I do ask for some things. I will be locking COR body seals on Amarok and Ardor stones from Orthrus-I will be taking these items from every single pop. If this is an issue then you will not be able to come. All those who come WILL get the Atheling Mantle. On that note-Amarok drops DNC PLD BLM body seals, and Orthrus drops Ardor Jewels and Orthrus claws for GAX and DAG empyeral weapons stage 3-I will let the party coming decide how they want to split these items, maybe a your pop your drop kinda of thing? Regardless, COR BODY SEALS & ARDOR STONES ARE MINE.

Finally, both Cerbs drop decent atma: Amarok drops Lone Wolf (ATK+ Minor, Fire Magic Atk+ Major) and Orthrus drops Brother Wolf(MAB, MDB Minor, Fire Resist +100). Even if you don't want a mantle you can come along for atma. Just remember you will not get a mantle if you don't have the key item for Orthrus or if you don't bring a pop set for Amarok: H.Q. Dhalmel Hide, Sharabha Hide, & Tiger King's Hide

If for some reason we wipe, I will refund the popset of the person who purchased it according to current AH value.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

I noticed that the Tiger King Hide's are low in stock. I have been buying them and sending to my character. If you would like to do this event but do not see a tiger hide in AH, /t <me>. You will pay AH price I have paid (100k so far per hide).

And buy your own pops… Not a good deal at all. Why not your pop your drops? It's not exactly hard to get a party together…

I don't see a lot of people in this shell w/ a mantle-I don't think its as easy as you claim.

I don't think its a big deal to give up stones and seals so you can get a mantle (not to mention you'll be refunded if we wipe on your pop-I doubt ANYONE else would offer that.)

How many people coming need stones/seals anyway? Stones, sure there are a few people who need them (WAR PLD BRD NIN BLU body +2). I'm sure people wouldn't mind passing 1-3 stones so they can get a mantle with no risk of money loss.

If it is such a big deal to give up stones and seals you might not even need, then as I said before, do not come.

I do 90% of my work with pick up parties. This event is more of "if you would like to come along you can." I know a lot of members do not have the mantle, I understand that there are members who don't need the +2s or COR seals because they don't even need them, and I know that this is not so hard that we would need more than 5 people (WHM BLM NIN THF WAR)

Regardless if people come or not, I am doing this. You can come along, or you can miss out. Personally I don't think the mantle is such a big deal but its a nice improvement and its unlikely you will get a group for this. I did see someone shouting to sell the mantle for 300k. I think it was Allstarjr but I don't remember.


Just a for your information for all readers-Stones of Ardor are pretty common. When I hosted Sobek to farm balance stones for myself, we had someone get 4 stones out of the 6 we did. (2 times it didnt drop). it also drops from other nms-Bukhis, Itzpapaloti, Lusca, etc. Just do the research and shout in port jeuno.

Guys if you don't like how's he organizing this thing you don't have to go. That's the bottom line. He isn't forcing you to do this. If you think it's a bad deal for you, then fine, don't go, no one is making you participate. There's quite a bit too much bashing and personal strikes being thrown around here for something so small.

Again, if it's a bad deal for you, then don't go. But losing it and jumping to making personal attacks on him as a person is extremely uncalled for.

Event is set for Friday July 1st after 5pm EST. If you want Aethling Mantle, Atma of the Lone/Brother Wolf, then /t me and I will get you in.

In regards to refunds-I will pay you based on what you paid at AH-assuming I can see it on ffxi-ah.com (shows 25 transactions instead of 10). So if you paid 120k for a hide you will be refunded 120k. (Refund is only if we wipe to Amarok/Orthrus on your pop-mantle is 100% drop so if we win you get what you paid for. Hoping to bring a nin so amarak's ki for orthrus is 100% as well)
